A "magical girl" setting that explores different meanings of, well, "magical girl".

There are a number of magical factions in this world, but the focus is on two groups who've had a long history together.

The Spirit Knights are more classically themed magical girls, although their membership is open regardless of gender: the main criterion is being willing to fully accept the powers of Light, Sparkliness and Hope. They are chosen and empowered by little fairylike nature spirits who act as companions and guides, merging with them to give them their sparkly powered up form. While their peak of power is during their younger years, with spirits not being able to merge fully with adults, former magical youth retain a degree of their power and provide a support network for the kids.

The Lunar Witches are more like ninja types, fighting in the shadows. Their membership is strictly female, either coming through family lines ("wait, granny was a ninja witch?") or through candidates being chosen by older witch mentors. (A modern day ninja witch is not likely to be prejudiced about who she selects.)
...insert Bayonetta jokes here.

The two groups have, in the past, had a serious conflict, but in the present day are intense but cooperative rivals. The fairy spirits who empower the Knights were a long time ago far more dangerous, using humans as hosts not allies; the Witches initially formed to turn the tables on them, but started to work to fight against general supernatural ickiness and threats. The fairies themselves discovered that Friendship with their human companions worked out a lot better and gave both parties a lot more power.

...I'm pretty sure I had more information on this one but I forget where it went.
An RP or similar setting that takes place in what amounts to a psychically generated MMO, connecting people from all over. It takes place in the same setting as post 1.

The game was created by the ancient civilisations of its world when they were on the verge of destruction by Something. Kind of an “Inner Light” from TNG situation, they’re using it as a method to show people what their worlds were like, what their civilisation was like, and possibly teach other cultures about how they used magic and mana - and prepare them for the idea that there’s danger ahead. It’s presented as a game because games are non-threatening.

People can share the game with others in their world via a psychic data connection.
